This course has been designed especially for managers and supervisors to help them understand and create a culture of sharing within learning organisations through the use of metaphors.

The experiential learning approach adopted will allow participants to try out metaphors to describe organisational changes and activities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to use an Organisational Metaphorical Assessment tool that can help identify blocks to organisational learning.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the nature of metaphor and its role in understanding organisations and management
  • Explain the impact of metaphors or images of organisation on learning at various levels of the organisation
  • Identify key metaphors operating within the organisation that influence and shape learning
  • Outline steps in building a continuous learning culture within the organisation for effective change management
